COURSE OVERVIEW

This intensive course prepares professionals for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification examination, fully aligned with the most recent PMI-ACP Exam Content Outline (October 2024) and its four revised core domains: Mindset, Leadership, Product, and Delivery. Participants will develop a comprehensive, practitioner-level understanding of agile values, principles, and frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, and Disciplined Agile, while building the situational judgment skills demanded by the updated exam. COURSE OBJECTIVES

  6. Apply adaptive planning techniques across strategic, release, iteration, and daily levels, managing risks and impediments using agile-appropriate tools and techniques.
  7. Facilitate retrospectives, apply continuous improvement cycles, and use data-driven metrics to optimize team performance, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

This course is designed for professionals who work in or alongside agile teams and wish to formally validate their agile expertise through the globally recognized PMI-ACP certification. It is particularly suited for project managers, scrum masters, product owners, agile coaches, team leads, and delivery managers who regularly apply agile methodologies and seek to demonstrate their breadth of agile knowledge across multiple frameworks. Business analysts, program managers, and IT professionals working in agile or hybrid environments who want to strengthen their understanding of lean-agile practices will also benefit significantly. Professionals who already hold a Scrum certification and wish to expand beyond a single framework to a methodology-agnostic credential are especially encouraged to attend. A minimum of 21 hours of formal agile training and 12 months of agile project experience are required for exam eligibility, and this course is designed to fulfill the training requirement while taking each participant through to full examination readiness.

Module 1: Agile Foundations and Exam Framework

  • PMI-ACP exam requirements, eligibility criteria, registration process, study plan, and course agenda
  • History of agile, the Agile Manifesto, 12 principles, and the evolution from traditional to agile project management
  • Overview of the 2024 PMI-ACP ECO: four domains, weightings (Mindset 28%, Leadership 25%, Product 19%, Delivery 28%), and exam structure
  • Introduction to key agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, SAFe, and the Disciplined Agile toolkit
  • Agile versus predictive versus hybrid: understanding when and how to apply each approach

Module 2: Domain I – Mindset

  • Understanding and applying the agile mindset: values, principles, and adaptive thinking in practice
  • Creating an environment of psychological safety, transparency, and continuous learning within agile teams
  • Establishing shared vision, working agreements, and team ground rules to foster collaboration and accountability
  • Using retrospective findings to improve team dynamics, eliminate silos, and drive organizational learning

Module 3: Domain II – Leadership

  • Servant leadership, agile coaching, and mentoring: principles and practical application in team settings

Module 4: Domain III – Product

  • Defining and communicating product vision, value, and success metrics aligned with customer and business needs
  • Building and managing the product backlog: user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and story mapping techniques
  • Prioritization frameworks: MoSCoW, weighted ranking, Kano model, and value-based ordering approaches
  • Agile estimation techniques: story points, planning poker, affinity estimation, and relative sizing
  • Managing stakeholder expectations, facilitating product reviews, and incorporating feedback into product evolution

Module 5: Domain IV – Delivery

  • Agile iteration planning: sprint planning, velocity, capacity planning, and team commitment in Scrum and Kanban
  • Managing flow, WIP limits, continuous integration, and release planning across agile delivery cycles
  • Seeking early feedback, managing agile metrics, and applying burndown and burnup charts to track progress
  • Managing impediments, risks, and dependencies in agile environments using adaptive and proactive techniques
  • Recognizing and eliminating waste, performing continuous improvement, and optimizing delivery flow

Module 6: Exam Strategy and Readiness

  • Fast review of all four domains with comprehensive mind map walkthrough and critical keyword summary
