Dr. Ahmad Rashid
Education
Dr. Ahmad Rashid is a Partner at VIFM. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, an MBA from Southeastern Oklahoma State University (USA), and a PhD in Project Management from the British University in Dubai (BUiD), in association with the University of Manchester (UK). He is a member of several international professional bodies, including the Project Management Institute (PMI), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Association for Project Management (APM), and the Institute of Performance and Learning (IPL).
Experience
With over 25 years of experience across the Middle East and GCC, Dr. Ahmad has held senior leadership roles in both corporate sector and Academia. Prior to joining VIFM, he served as Senior Business Development Director at SHL Middle East and Africa and as Senior Partner at Meirc Training and Consulting. He previously served as General Manager of Arena, an educational and multicultural complex in Amman, Jordan, where he led five functional departments and significantly increased profitability through organizational restructuring and service innovation. During this period, he also taught project management and leadership at Amman Private University. Dr. Ahmad managed the UNDP Middle Managers Program, jointly delivered by Amman University and Cranfield University (UK). Earlier in his career, he worked in strategic planning and business development for Al-Fozan Group in Saudi Arabia, preparing feasibility studies, business plans, financial analyses, and market research. He has also held academic positions at regional universities, teaching project and business management related programs, and has published research in international journals, including the International Journal of Managing Projects in Business.
Expertise
At VIFM, Dr. Ahmad leads business development initiatives and talent management projects, including the design and implementation of assessment and development centres for both selection and development purposes. His consulting expertise also includes establishing project management offices (PMOs), developing project risk methodologies, and conducting feasibility studies. In addition, he delivers training programs in Project Management, Leadership, and Strategy Management. Dr. Ahmad holds multiple professional certifications in psychometrics and project management, including Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing (Levels A & B) from the British Psychological Society (BPS), UK; Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ32) certification from Saville and Holdsworth (SHL), UK; Master Assessor certification from Profiles International (PI), USA; Certified Training Practitioner (CTP™) from the Institute of Performance and Learning (IPL), Canada; Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Risk Management Professional (RMP®) certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI), USA; PRINCE2® Registered Practitioner certification from the Association of Project Management Group (APMG), UK; and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification from Microsoft, USA.
