Dr. Elizabeth Griffith

MBA, PhD.

Education

Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Griffith is a member of the Advisory Board and Strategy & Leadership Principal of the Virginia Institute of Finance. She earned her Doctorate at Georgetown University and MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.

Experience

Dr. Griffith was a nonprofit executive for 20 years, leading finance and administration teams at Monticello, the Phillips Collection, National Public Radio, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In 2009 she joined Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as Associate Dean for the MBA Evening Program, where she advanced the new program in rankings, students, and revenues. She was Associate Dean for Graduate Business Programs at Boston College, where she led the successful introduction of data analytics into the core MBA curriculum. She has served on nonprofit boards as Treasurer, Audit Committee Chair and Board Chair.

Expertise

As an adjunct professor, Dr. Griffith has taught at the University of Virginia’s Darden School and Trinity University. She has lectured at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and in the MBA and Executive. Education programs. Dr. Griffith spent three years with Tatum, LLC (a Randstad company), working with clients on Strategy and Leadership engagements and projects. Betsy’s core strengths are in Change Leadership, Strategy Tools and Techniques, Leadership Communication, Women-focused Leadership Skills, and Developing Emerging Managers and Leaders.
